Cholesterol Management - Replace Butter with Olive Oil
A recent study funded by the butter industry gave further confirmation that butter increases both total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol), especially when compared with olive oil as an alternative.
Granted, sometimes nothing compares to a little butter - but you can easily reduce saturated fat, cholesterol and calories in many recipes by using olive oil in place of butter. To make the switch, you use about 25% less olive oil than butter - or use this handy conversion chart for reference:
